Jim,
Doesn't sound like a good candidate for a concours car ;-) After all,
it could be exactly the way it rolled out of the factory and not
conform to their guides. Your car is probably a mix of DPO mods and
transition effects. I once had a very late 1275 Midget that had the
hole under the front u-joint like a 1500.
Manual choke conversions were very popular on the Strombergs cuz the
automatic generally failed quickly.
Air pumps had a short life expectancy; it is far more unusual to find
a car that still has it in place.
If the ignition is not ballasted, a VOM will show the same voltage
across the primary terminals of the coil (with the ignition on) as
across the battery; if it is ballasted, you will see around 10VDC.
