I was about to but one of those until i noticed that there didn't appear to be
any ability to "clock" the starter like the more expensive ones.

The ones sold by "martingf" can be rotated to let the solenoid clear any
obstructions.
the $99 ones can't if the picture is anything to go by.

I used to use a Holden Gemini starter on my 1098 (there is a Chevy equivalent
but I cant remember what it's called) but it wont work with the rivergate kit
as the solenoid wants to hit the footwell. It was a bloody good starter, cost
$25, bolted straight in. I think the Gemini was made by Isuzu and badged as a
Holden (General Motors Australia). Google "1979 Holden Gemini" and you will
probably recognize it.

There is a guy selling gear reduction starters on eBay ( 220404991105 BIN
$99.95 ) that lists them as follows: "Starters for Triumph Spitfire, GT6,
MG Midget and Sprite models". Can anybody tell me if the 1500 and the 1275
use the same starter? I have no experience with the 1500.
