I remember the early 1950's when churches were downplaying the Christmas tree
as 
a PAGAN symbol.
The German Huns used pine trees to celebrate the winter
solstice long before 
Christian missionaries ever appeared.
Many are slaves to
PC.  "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased 
at the price of
chains and slavery?  Forbid it, Almighty God!"  That's right; 
God as in MERRY
