[Spridgets] MGB engine in a midget?

Don't these things twist half-shafts with a stock Spridget motor? Mine did
before it was given to me. ...bill in corvallis

The MGB 1800 weighs 397#.

350 Chevy weighs 575#.

302 Ford weighs 485#.

Knock off 50# on the Chevy and Ford V8s for AL heads.

215 Buick - Rover V8 weighs 350.  The larger Rover versions are only 5# 
heavier than the 215.

Also, the AL T-5 5-speed is lighter than the MGB iron 4-speed.

A breathed on 215 Buick/Rover can give you 3 to 4 times the HP with less 
weight than an MGB 1800.  But, you are still going to have fun fitting it.
