You guys are all paying way too much.  Tennessee Antique Plate Registration 
is $25.00 for LIFE!  You can display a tag that would have been in use at 
the time the car was built as long as you carry the issued Antique Plate 
with you in the vehicle and can show it to a LEO upon request.  Use is 
restricted but unenforced but you can use your car for regular 
transportation on weekends.  I have been displaying a British style plate on 
my car for about 10 years.  I have had LEO's check my cars out many times 
and none ever ask about the British Plate.  BTW, I had my issued TN Antique 
Plate numbers put on my British plate.  If they were to ever run the tag it 
would show up in the system.  I was a little concerned when we went to LOTO 
but I had no problems.   Tennessee is very antique car friendly.   Now I 
will get "nailed" next time out, if it ever quits raining!
