Old boat I had with a Buick small block. Wouldn't run for more than a few
seconds. I took a plug out in the dark and turned it over and could see a
consistent spark in the dark.

Out on the water with son at the wheel - I shot some carb cleaner into the
little single barrel Rochester.

The boat took off so fast nearly knocked me out over the back onto the stern
drive. That Buick V8 really got up and went. I was bent over the engine
falling towards the back of the thing, barely stayed inside.

Turned out to be a very leaky carb, especially the accelerator pump. Did
you check the accelerator pumps on the SU's?

Or wait, SU's don't have them? Never mind. . . just a thought!

Hey, that's one way to confirm consistent spark, right?
