[Spridgets] Taurus Judge - 410 Gauge goes off from trunk in car. . what a blast.

Cdn firearm training is a bit different. Ideally the person handing over
the gun proves it's safe ( unloaded ). The receiver verifies. Then ...
since you've received a firearm that has been out of your control, you are
supposed to check for blockages. Apparently, exploding barrels, cause a lot
of death and injury. They tell the story of the guy hunting who stumbles
and plants the end of his shotgun into the ground, blocking the end of the
barrel. Then he saw game, aimed and pulled the trigger and blew the top of
his skull off ... and lived ... with less brain than he had before.

The expressions up here are something like: "never point a firearm at
anything that you would regret shooting" and "know what is beyond your
target".

"somehow" the damn thing went off while in his trunk.'

Wow - Your son is extremely lucky. He needs to go take a firearm safety and
hunting course at a local school - and soon. The first and most important
lesson they stress is that you must always assume all guns are loaded until
you physically prove to yourself that they are not. and if it is out of
your
sight, you need to reprove t to yourself. I was taught the first thing you
do
to any gun handed to you is check to make sure of the load status. My my
dad
taught me at a very young age: "Don't ever point a gun at anyone unless you
intend to shoot them, and don't ever shoot anyone unless you intend to..."
well you know what I mean. No need in just making them mad so they come
back
after they get better.
