I think we've been here before with this - it's a resurface of the anti  K&N 
brigade
 
You can always use oiled metal gauze and let us know how it works  out....

Anyone else like me have a  K&N filter on their car?  I'm wondering what my
options would be  to return to a standard paper style filter for my HIF44 set
up on a  1275.....    Ideas are welcome....
