The 3D printers have been around for a while.  I actually have a
plastic adjustable wrench like the one Jay was showing that was "built" in a
printer.  Got it in a trade show from the people that make the printers.  The
scanners are also not new, but the fact that they are this small, fast, and
inexpensive is VERY cool stuff.
