John,
Not doubting you at all, just curious what you think the weak point is and if
I hit on the same one (in my admittedly non-professional-engineering mind). 
Where the Heims bolt into the flat plate?  That's what would concern me - you
think maybe some additional gusseting / triangulated bracing behind the plate
to help carry the twisting up to the rest of the arm would be called for?  It
seems to be an interesting idea if not the most wonderful execution of that
idea.
