Tribeca? Isn't that the car that frightened Richard Hammond's kids???

Up by Ron the people seem to handle the snow better than here. By me it is
similar to what ED reports. When it snows, the municipal vehicles are out
there salting and scraping until they have dug great chunks out of the road
surface (then they blame the road condition on the "freeze/thaw cycle"). I
agree that the 4wd people seem to think that, since they launch better than
2wd, they MUST be able to stop better, too. Likewise, they do not realize
that a vehicle that handles lousy on a dry road REALLY handles horribly in
adverse traction conditions. I drive a 2002 VW GTi VR6 as a daily driver.
Clutch, handbrake, snow tires and a car that goes where you point it . . . A
great snow car for the local conditions IMHO. Every year we get to watch
people learn how to drive in the snow all over again.

Oh yes, as Tom Bodett once said, "4WD means that when YOU get stuck, NO ONE
is going to 'happen by' and help you out."
