As I understand it, there were different diameters and different numbers of
splines. Some fit, some don't, and frequently the ones that aren't supposed
to do, and vice versa. I have the late-sixties banjo style without horn
button on a Bugeye column, and it fits. I was told by everyone that it
wouldn't fit. Well, actually Frank said it would if I beat it with a big
hammer.
