To echo Tracey, when people drop big bucks on an older car, they are seldom
doing so in order to drive it across the country. Generally, they are either
"investing" or else trying to buy some memories from their youth. NO ONE
buys a Heavey Healey as a performance car anymore. Chances of a stock Healey
suiting the "need" are MUCH higher than the chance that they had one with a
SBC, SBF, Rov8 or whatever. If you are trying to flip the car for a profit,
keep it stock. If you are modding it to drive it for the next ten years, do
whatever you please. Thank goodness Spridgets still sell primarily as
drivers...
