Could be an air leak on the intake manifold ...somewhere. Something is loose
and getting loose-er. Carb bolts and movement is diminishing the gasket
there?

Subject: [Spridgets] Miss

Hello Spridgets,

I've had a low speed miss. At first it happened only under
2000 rpm, when putting around. Then it moved up to 2500, It
happened when the engine was cold and would go away as it
warmed up. Then it moved up to 3000 rpm. Today (spring arrived
yesterday) I took it out and it moved up so it missed under
4000 rpm, and even when mostly warmed up. Hmmmmmm?...

I checked the plugs. They were dark brown, more than a tad
rich, but not toooooo bad. One was worse than others so i
changed the plug wire to that one. No difference. I have a
Crane XR 700 so it's not points or condensor. (Boy does having
one of those help trouble shoot. Ya always know it's NOT the
        problem)..

Before today, if it started to stumble, (yes I have damper
fluid) I could mash the go pedal and the miss would clear. But
not today. when it was cold I could pull out the choke, engine
speed would pick up, the miss would go away, the car would
warm up and as it did, I would push in the choke and the miss
would stay awawy (except below 2000 rpm, an occasional
        stumble.... .. but not today.....

        I've gotta get this cured.................

I changed the dizzy cap and rotor. It seems MUCH better. It
only stumbles a tad, once in a while driving below 1800 rpm..
I ordered new ones from Advanced Distributor... ....
