[Spridgets] Bailouts

Irrespective about the maths, the idea makes no sense at all. Since the $700
Billion isn't money stashed somewhere waiting to be handed out. It is
derived from taxes (past and future) so in order to distribute it to
everyone over 18, would require everyone over 18 to pay up the sum in taxes
in the first place.

The 85 billion is for the AIG bailout. The proposed new overall bail out is
700 billion. 85 billion divided by 200 million = 425. Try it this way, 200
million times 425,000. You get 85 trillion. The US gross domestic product
(GDP) is only a little over 14 trillion.

Make it even simpler ... use a calculator and divide 85,000,000,000 by
200,000,000.

( Am I doing something wron, or is that NOT 425,000. )

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide
U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and
child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon -- that equals
$425,000.00. idgets
