Hi Gals and Guys,

Long time since I posted here. Been lurking though.

Those of you who are keen readers of the history of the Spridget will know
that
the Sprite Mk. 1 had its first race victory driven by the journalist, John
Anstice-Brown, on Saturday 12-July, 1958 in Ireland at the triangular road
circuit at Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

Next weekend, there is a meeting at Dunboyne to commerate the races which
were held at that circuit over the years 1958 - 1967. All the details, and
more, are here...

and...

Also, a book of photographs from the period has been published in Ireland.
It has a foreword by the same John Anstice-Brown after all these years. [I
have now forgiven him for cuting off the headlight "bumps"]. A photo of him
in the Sprite (# 40) leaving the line is included, along with many other
photos of Sprites, Cooper S's, TRs etc.

Details of the book are available by e-mail from:-

and it may be ordered from...

No commercial interest; I paid Euro 30 for my copy last Friday. I just
think that this is a great record of the era when "our" cars raced, and
won, for real. Unfortunately, I was not at the two first Dunboyle meetings,
(and so missed the Sprite's win), but managed to get to the rest.

Thought you might like this information.

BTW, Gaydon UK last May was only terrific. Best Spridget day ever.
