you could be over-tightening in which case
the distributor will have a tendency to "rise" and "squirt out" of it's port.

I am assuming the distributor fits properly  ALL THE WAY DOWN it's port to begin with, of course.

Very little tightening is actually required to 
"hold" the dizzy in place. Fr'instance, I can actually turn mine by hand (not too easily, mind you) after "tightening" it down.
