   Matt,
Do you mean that you intend to cut one of the 45 DCOE's in half?
   That's extreme!

Thank you!

Also I want to add to the list of mods... We are going to use an electric
water pump, and an electric fan and run a shutoff valve on the alternator to
allow for less drag. And we are going to do a dual weber carb setup.

Matt,

Get in touch with David Anton at APT in Riverside CA. He deals in nothing
but performance parts and carries everything for the A-series engine.
Adjustable cog drive timing sets, roller rockers, top quality lifters,
bearings, and just about anything else along with a flow bench.

Hello gang,

With the courtesy of Brent Wolf, we now have a new engine. The engine that
Bud provided seems to have apprx 105 hp according to the tuning book I
have.
So our quest to build our bug to hit 130 (more like 115 or 120) begins.
Starting with a 1275cc motor that has some rust on it, it is being sent
out
to get all of the rust removed, crank to be inspected and re-machined,
cylinders will be bored out .040" over. All bearing are being coated in a
nonfriction film. We are going to use 14:1 pistons or 13:1 that will be
ceramic coated on the top and have the same nonfriction film on the walls.
(Is there a stroker kit for these motors?) I am up for suggestions on a
cam
and cam followers and rocker arms full race motor and would like to spin
it
to at least 8000rpm also valve springs open for suggestions on good
companies for all of these or if there is a good package to buy. Going to
be
running 45 DCOE weber carb, the car already has headers on it but I'm not
sure what kind or size exhaust.

For headwork, the head is going to be sent out to do a bench-port port and
polish. We are going to put the largest size valves we can fit (Right now
the head has the second largest setup in my high performance tuning book,
we
are going to offset the exhaust valve to increase the size, the book says
that's worth 5hp right there. To avoid head gasket issues, we are going to
o-ring the head and the block. And lastly, we are going to get a 5spd to
match up to it and we are running a 4.2 rear diff locked right now, but we
are going to change that to either a 3.9 or a different 4.2 with a limited
slip differential (also looking for advise which to go with) I was told
Detroit sells one but not to go with it..?
