Of course the gas exploded, it was hydrogen and oxygen.  Problem was, and 
is, you will put more energy into separating the water into hydrogen and 
oxygen than you will get burning it.  Its the old thermodynamic law of "no 
free lunch". Rip-offs like this make people who paid attention in chemistry 
class laugh and laugh.  Everybody knows that this won't work unless you also 
put one of those little turbolator fans in your intake and a bis-a$$ magnet 
on your fuel line.   Then, maybe.........
