Well, LotO is over and now a warm and pleasant memory. One which will
undoubtedly will become stretched to mythical proportions as we are able to
develop ever more incredible lies about our exploits ;-)

Carolyn, the fur kids and I are stopped for the night in Ft. Scott KS and
will head on home in the morning. Just too exhausted and sleepy to continue
tonight. Too dangerous.

Last night we learned that Leo Speichinger (SP?) had an injector pump go
south on his diesel pickup. Since we didn't have any emergency to be home
for we stayed this morning and drove Leo and wife up to Holt's Summit where
a local shop was able to furnish a rebuild exchange for his core by around
3pm CDT. We left Leo back at the hotel with everything he needs to get the
truck running again. Had a great visit through the day.

While waiting for the rebuild we discovered the National Barnstormers group
at Jefferson City airport giving biplane rides!! An incredible array of
1920s and early 30s biplanes in near concours condition! $50 for a ride and
being an ancient pilot I couldn't resist!! Went up over Jefferson City for
15 minutes in a 1929 New Standard D25 with the Wright Whirlwind 440hp
radial! Great stuff and a real topper for a wonderful "day after the
50th".

Hope everyone had as much fun as we did and effusive thanks to all those who
did the work at the event... Frank & Diane, Jack & Kay, David & Trish,
Rodger, Jim D., Peter C., Glen B., Gerard, the Millers, the Nases with their
"Corvidget", the Endicotts, Tequila Brad and many many more.... I will wrap
up the event in emails over the next few weeks with a recap of everything
and everyone involved...

Car count was about 75 with about half of that bugeyes! THere were some
absolutely incredible looking cars there. We had Spridgets in the hotel
lobby throughout the event. I can hardly wait to see the panoramic pics -
especially the one with 36 bugeyes looking straight at the camera! Dale
Delugosh is starting work on the DVD and many more stills will be posted to
various websites in the weeks to come. I took over 75 pics myself and I
missed out on a lot of possibilities being too busy to grab the camera....

What a special family of Spridgeteers we all are!! The future is indeed
bright!

Cheers!!
Jim, Carolyn and the furds
