If you buy a HD gas can that's legal in California, and buy the same brand kerosene can, you can swap the spouts, throw out the kerosene can, and have a functioning gas can that you can use without pouring gasoline all over yourself every time you use it. The kerosene cans are about 1/4th the price because they don't have the California "safety" spout.
