[Spridgets] Bugeye grill fasteners

I was pulling the parts off my bonnet in preperation for paint today.
Those little sheet metal nuts holding the front grill on were a pain to
remove.
In some cases they were not doing such a great job anyway.

Has anyone come up with an alternative?

I thought I would make up something like this.  Little cylinders with a hole
down the center and a set screw coming in from the side.
Sort of like little drill stops.

Do the same for the rear arrow too..
