[Spridgets] Odd Fuel Pump situation

I threw it out.  You would not believe all of the garbage that was in that filter area.  

I went home after work yesterday and began to take apart both float bowls and look at what was in them and if the valve was working properly.  The valve seems to be opening and closing with the float appropriately.  

I am going to swap the parts out with some spares that I have.  Maybe their is something wrong that I am not seeing.  I just wonder why both are doing the pour fuel out bit.
