I know you said you don't weld but a good welder can make that pedal
as good as new in no time at all. The push rod could also be done but I
would suggest a new one instead. Don't know about this car but I would
look for a circlip to get out the push rod.

I agree with the previous poster, this is not where you want to mickey
mouse it.

It seems that the the hole at the top of the clutch pedal and the hole on the clutch MC push rod have both been stretched into oblong shapes, resulting in extra free play in the pedal, and the push rod isn't getting pushed in all the way, creating an "iffy" shifting situation. Here is a picture of the mess...

What I think I want to do at least at first is go after the hole with some bits of metal and lots of JB Weld. Also, I see that I probably have to un-mount the entire MC support structure to get the clutch MC off, to get the push rod out, which looks like no fun, so I will probably opt to do some sort of repair on the existing push rod as well. Or is there a way to get that push rod out with dissecting the whole thing? I am just back from the (closing this year) Moss store in Dover, NJ, and have a new push rod in hand.
