[Spridgets] gauge restoring

My gauges are in pretty good shape except the bezels need some rechroming.
While I have them apart is there anything else I can do to keep them working
well.  I plan to clean up the dials, replace O rings etc but should I put a
drop of oil on the speedo gears for instance?
 
Is there only one O ring in each gauge between the glass and bezel?
