I asked this same question last year as was told definitely NO, use the
proper bubble flare tool.
I picked up one for about $30 which worked great. You can defiantly tell the
difference in the way the flare is shaped.

Thanks

Subject: [Spridgets] Brake line flares

I need to buy a flaring tool to make some 45-degree Girling-style bubble
flares in new brake line.

Can I do the job with a regular double flare flaring tool by just not
doing the second step of the double flare process?

Tool prices are all over the place. I don't need a tool for repeated
shop use, but I don't want to get stuck swearing at junk.

Searching the web, I found lots of variability in price (and probably
quality)-for example:

ring%20tool&gcstype=false

So, any recommendations?

Thanks!
