1999 Subaru Legacy Outback - loaded!
Dealer services performed at recommended intervals. 
At 5,000 the engine developed bad piston slap. 
Short block replaced under warranty.  I saw the old
piston... I had never seen slipper pistons with that short a skirt.
Bad engine vibration at 700, 1400, 2100 rpm... never fixed.
Piston slap came back at 42,000 --  out of warranty period... not fixed!
Developed a flat on #2 cam lobe -- out of warranty
Got rid of car at 63,000!!!
