Somewhere along the way I snagged a .PDF file titled; "Repairing 
Jaeger & Smiths Speedometers" by Anthony Rhodes. It discusses the 
ratio numbers (turns per mile) issue in the appendix and may be of 
help. It's well written and includes pictures. Search for the doc by 
the title and author or contact me for a copy.
