Hi Glen,

I've traveled it many times. When you leave Denver it is long and boring
till you reach Missouri. Moreover, the stretch across east Colorado is one
of the worst bits of interstate I've ever traveled. Its like all the
concrete slabs were laid without a plumb line! The truckers hate it cause
it will hammer you mercilessly! A short wheel base vehicle will constantly
rock forward and back on the uneven slabs thumping like crazy at each seam.
I even avoid it on motorcycle because it wears you out.

If I might suggest a much more pleasant and picturesque route... Pick up
US50 at Grand Junction. Follow it through the mountains to Pueblo and on
east to Dodge City, KS. At Dodge City pick up US400 to Mullinville, KS where
you pick up US54. Follow US54 all the way to the Inn At Grand Glaize in
Osage Beach! If you don't want to drive through Wichita, KS you can leave
US54 on I-235 north and follow it north of Wichita to KS254 which will take
you right back to US54 in El Dorado, KS. If you go this way, be sure to
stop in Gas, KS at the convenience store. You can get a T-shirt there that
says you've passed Gas in Kansas.... ;-)

I'd offer to hook up with you in the Midget, but we will be going to LotO
about 3 days early in order to get everything set up and working...
