Who could possibly be silly enough to do that?  Especially since this places 
one bolt on each side in a completely impossible location.  It does not help 
when you ask about the dumb position of that bolt and your expert friend 
says, "There is no accounting for the way they do things.  After all, they 
drink warm beer."

The steering column was out.  I dropped the engine in alone in 10 minutes, 
no hang-ups anywhere.
