[Spridgets] Clutch problems?

I just got my first midget, 1979 1500. Everything works good so far except.. after the car has been running for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, the clutch makes all kinds of noise when the pedal is pushed. Clanking, and the car starts stalling out.  Engine runs strong until this starts to happen. Then if I shut the car down for awhile it is fine again. Do I need a new clutch kit?
