Bad weekend at the races. Oly only lasted 3/4 of the 1st practice lap. He
came into turn 8 a little hot, locked up the brakes and went off the track
between cones. He hit nothing. The next car through was on the line and was
not close to Oly. The next car through came into turn 8 a little hot and was
on his way off the track when he hit Oly in the rear. Damage was light
except a rare Volvo mag was destroyed. The Bird Cage Maserati that hit him
put a dent in an aluminum panel. Both cars returned to the hot pits. The
other driver was spoken to for about a minute then left. One of his people
then came and drove the Bird Cage away.

Oly was interrogated for about 15 minutes then allowed to leave.

The verdict from Steve Earle was "If Oly had not been there he would not
have got hit" so therefore it was his fault. Oly was kicked out of the race
and the other driver was allowed to race the rest of the weekend.

The driver of the Bird Cage was Rob Walton. He enters three to five cars in
all of the General Racing (Steve Earle) including the Monterey historics.
Earle was not about to kick him out of anything.

The verdict should have been for both drivers to take it easy.

If you don't know who Rob Walton is, think Wal-Mart. Net worth $18 billion.

Larry Miller (still pissed)
