Not necessarily so. One reason the European rally cars right down to
clubman/amateur status like the clutch plate diff is that if a
halfshaft/driveshaft/axle breaks they can still limp out of a special stage to the service area.
For the very same reason they are loathe to use a Quaife/Torsen.
Where is Alan East-Jones - he works for Ferguson!
