Just maybe the kid fell in love with the lines of the DeSoto. It would be a 
unique ride and which of us has not been accused of stupidity for buying a 
Spridget or three?

All the glass in a 1947 car should be flat, so it isn't impossible to 
replace. The wiring harness should not be too elaborate. It is not an 
impossible task, but the kid had better be motivated. He just needs to find 
the right "old man" who has a soft spot in his head for DeSotos ;-) Could 
make a nice resto-rod...
