[Spridgets] Loss of brake pedal

Hi Mike,

Sounds like a classic case of an air bubble in the circuit. There are a
couple of possibilities. One is that after you got done driving, the air
bubble rose to the top of the cylinder and popped. That is the best
scenario, but usually isn't the case. The more likely scenario is that the
air bubble sank, and is sitting somewhere in the system. The pedal going
all the way to floor happens when the bubble is in the bore of the cylinder.

There is a way to hook a vacuum up to the top of the master cylinder to pull
out any air, but I'm a bit hazy on the specifics. I'm sure someone here on
the list knows the steps to take.

Subject: [Spridgets] Loss of brake pedal

Hey all,

I've been driving the hell out of the midget since its been on the road
again. Yesterday, I took it for an 80 mile trip in 90 to 95 degree weather
at sustained speeds of 60 to 70 mph.

The car performed fine the whole trip, but towards the very end I had
trouble with a gradually softening pedal for the brakes. It was going
almost to the floor when I pulled up to the house.

The MC is new. There's plenty of fluid in the reservoir. And the brakes
are fine today. No issues whatsoever.

Any thoughts on what might have been occurring, and how do I prevent it
going forward?

Tks,
Mike
