[Spridgets] Stupid scanner radio question = No direct LBC

I'm thinking about buying a cheap handheld scanner
radio for the racetrack to listen to race control.
Aside from the track, is there anything else such a
device would be good for? I always felt ambulance
chasing is in poor taste, and a scanner would take the
sport out of it anyway.
