[Spridgets] Opinions wanted

Yeah that statement alone is scary with this list. 
   
  I'm putting Bugsy into the garage for A Pillar skin work. Outer Sills were replaced by PO many years ago but I've got a slight door gap issue on DS Door and even on PS Door. Rub at the top. Doors do close but gap is real close. Do I 
   
  1) Try to trim and reweld edge of the door for clearance.
   
  2) Cut off Outer sills, place jack under car and lift to obtain additional door gap clearance, Reweld new Outer sills back on.  
   
  I'm making assumption that I can do some sort of adjustment to door gaps by lifting with Outer Sill off. Please correct my errant thinking if I'm wrong.
