What?? Everyone doesn't do this on their spridgets?  Actually I rarely
>double clutch a shift except in rare situations, but I downshift virtually

I've always double clutched on all my driver cars over these long years.
Maybe that is why I've never replaced a clutch - even after as much as 160K
miles. I guess I'd rather replace brakes than the clutch.
