[Spridgets] Death Trap

I've got to agree with David. Also realize that, as the contest goes on and
more votes are tabulated, it will require more and more votes to raise the
percentage differences. IOW, early on it may have taken only a few votes to
raise our percentage of the total. At the end, one percent of the total is
likely to be one hell of a lot of votes. If we are way up at the end, we
are likely to stay there with a good effort.

And Bill Gilroy is going to owe all of us a lot of beer. ;-))

Derf,
Much as I admire your tactical prowess, I think that there is a significant
flaw therein. From what I have seen of their server, a last-minute attempt
to blitz it would be more likely to resemble a denial of service attack and
bring the thing to its knees, resulting in the victory of whatever team
happened to be in the lead at that moment. It just does not seem to be very
robust. After all, only one vote per person per day, right? How many friends
could these losers have ;-)? I think it would be wise to be in the lead
going into that last day; preferably an insurmountable lead, but at least a
lead that will be a bit daunting to the opposition.

In that spirit, I am happy to say thanks to any of you who were helping me
this afternoon as we moved from third place up to first place with a lead of
2.1% over second place. Someone from X-Wing seemed to be striving to emulate
us, but the best they were able to do was to hold their ground against our
lead while slowly passing the erstwhile first-place Rust Rockets. I do feel
sorry for the DB5 Devils...
