My friend had a woman talking on her cell phone in an SUV clobber him in his beautiful flat-floor E-type. Apparently there are no new production bonnets available at the moment in the UK (they are apparently still making them these days). Any help locating a nice one or new one will be appreciated! The new ones seem to be a bit pricey even though it appears the price includes the housing, at the places it is available. Has anyone had the core fixed at a radiator shop? Are all of the heater cores interchangeable between Spits and GT6s or just some years? I have a used heater box from a GT6 (Mark 1 I think) , but I don't know what kind of shape the core is in. His Spitfire wiring diagrams are listed on the Spitfire & GT6 Magazine web site. Tom had a wonderful sense of humor and was an inspiration to other enthusiasts. I had the good fortune to meet him around ten years ago after he invited me to stop by his house in Southbridge, MA on the way to taking my daughter to college in Boston. I was amazed at the quality of work, including welding and painting, he had done on his Spitfire in a Harbor Freight portable garage! I only met Tom once, but he was definitely one of the good guys and one of those people who seemed like a life-long friend when you met him. I am very sad to say that I just learned that Tom passed away after an illness on March 9, 2008. His obituary can be found at http://www.sansoucyfuneral.com/sitemaker/sites/Sansou1/obit.cgi?user=832_TOMa lley102 . I do not believe this has been posted to the listserves before, but I wanted all to know of his passing. -Larry Griffin From racerbob70 at yahoo.com Tue Nov 30 09:57:55 2010 From: racerbob70 at yahoo.com (Bob Van Kirk) Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2010 08:57:55 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Spits] Fw: [MGVR] STOLEN - 1961 MGA Message-ID: <617116.11921.qm@web51601.mail.re2.yahoo.com> Lets help find this LBC for Scott's mom...B B Feel free to forward this to other groups...
