[Spits] new tank - to sealant or not to sealant?

I got the fuel tank from Vicky Brit today. She's a beaut. I even got an
extra locking ring & gasket. Didn't know they came with one already.

Also got a new fuel float, and this one is a preferred brass float.
Different model than the one I have. You can see the rheostat, and it
has wire connections.

Anyways, before I embark on testing. Should I use some sort of gas-safe
sealant when putting the fuel meter back together? I'll be very careful
when putting it all back together(trying not to bend things), but will
sealant be preferred as well?
