Apparently, there is a liner inside of the spherical bearing.  A type of
self-lubricating Teflon.  I may also seal the top of the ball joint with
some type of rubber boot to keep sand and dirt from settling into the  upper
"cup".  Here's a description of the patent.

The bearing surface is PTFE.

I purchased this suspension kit a couple of months ago and am about to start
the installation. I do have a question.  Does the lower ball joint require
lubrication and if so, how do I do it?
