GT6 diffs likely 3.27 ratio, your Spitfire was 3.89.
I put a 3.27 in my 1974 Spitfire once and it is a bear to get off from a
start and low revs while driving.
Also the 1971 and 1972 Spitfire diffs are 4.11 ratio like the early round
tail.
Above information from memory...
You should open the diff you want to use and clean it out, inspect the
internals.
A drain plug can be installed at this point also.
It's a lot of work to install and remove if it proves wrong!
