Oh, I forgot to say. If he is replacing a non OD tranny with one that has
OD, he will need to install a different mounting bracket for the rear
transmission mount, a shorter driveshaft (or have his cut down) and the
proper wiring as well as an angle drive for the speedometer cable.

A friend in Texas needs a trans for his '76 Spitfire 1500 and 
found an OD trans from a '75. As both are behind a 1500 
is this a direct bolt in or might the mounts or drive shaft
be different ?
