I have to admit that I have never owned a Spit with a single rail gearbox
but I thought that the down right for reverse is correct. I know that a
3-rail box has it up and left and I thought that it was just the opposite.

I never thought about it when I put it on, but the knob was just
loosely screwed on the stick. The knob may be from something else
entirely! With that in mind, any further comments? Thanks, Bill
