If the engine currently has no valve problems (i.e.
compression is OK), you can simply run it on unleaded
gas until the valves do need to be replaced. 
Depending on how much you drive it, this might not be
necessary for many years.

I have owned my '72 Spitfire since about 1990, using
unleaded the whole time, and I have never had to do
any valve work on it.
