I suspect your car is running about as hot as it did
new from the factory.  If the gauge does not get too
high and it does not boil over, I think it's not
really overheating.

If too much heat is coming from the headers, maybe
they (or the firewall behind them) should be
insulated.  If you installed some super perfect
radiator, then there would be even more heat coming
off of it, and the passenger compartment would be as
hot as before...
