Personally, I use this <a href="https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/product/product-detail/98160">TotalBoat Lust Marine Spar Varnish</a> on my sailboat, but any of the Total Boat varnishes have a good reputation, although I have not used the water-based one. Another popular finnish with boaters is Cetol by Sikkens. I've used it on the interior of my boat but never the exterior.
