For the first week or so it required a conscious effort as I needed to switch beverages (I switched to Diet Coke first and then to carbonated water), I had to occupy my time when I otherwise would be drinking,I had to change my daily routines/habits, etc., but after a month I just decided to go another month. That led to another month and it has now been 13 years since I stopped drinking. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">It was a very good lifestyle change for me. I dropped about 15 pounds, my blood pressure dropped to 117/60, I have better balance, am clearer minded, feel better in the mornings, and have saved a lot of money. ;-) </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">After a month or so, you probably will not even notice eliminating alcohol from your life. But otherwise, I am doing fine, recovering nicely.<br>
