I appreciate all the replies. I had never considered one of the newer types since I had always used to resistance load style. I think I will give one of the Ancel BA101 a try.</div>

Miq, I usually don't have a helper, so being able to apply the load by yourself is nice. I have seen batteries that are 12V with no load, but as soon as you hit it with a load it is obvious that there is a weak cell or two.</div>

I have been using this Ancel BA101 for the last 4 years. While not as dramatic as the Milton when doing a load test, it seems to accurately measure the battery condition, and it does other diagnostic checks. Priced similarly to the more traditional tools.<br>

I am looking t get a battery tester for testing condition of car batteries. My Dad has an older one with the Century and Nesco brands on it (picture attached). He got it a long time ago but it has performed well. I am looking for a good quality version of the
same style of tester. I have come across the Milton 1260M. Made in China of course, but does anyone have any experience with this model? Any other recommendations for a good quality tester?</div>
